Cyclist struck, killed at Avenue and Davenport on Saturday night

Toronto police have arrested a 19-year-old Keswick man for a hit and run that killed a cyclist on Saturday night.

The arrest follows a search for a white Hyundai that police say struck and killed a cyclist near Avenue and Davenport roads.

The car failed to remain on the scene, according to Const. Clint Stibbe of Toronto Police Traffic Services.

The arrest was announced Sunday afternoon.

Stibbe said earlier in the day that, because the victim was making a left-hand turn onto Davenport, the driver may not have initially been at fault.

The cyclist was a 26-year-old man from Burlington.
