Taxi driver dead following shooting near Pharmacy and Eglinton
Police called to Pharmacy Avenue and Eglinton Avenue East just before 9 p.m. Sunday
A taxi driver is dead following a shooting in Scarborough Sunday night, Toronto police said.
Police said they were called to Pharmacy Avenue and Eglinton Avenue East just before 9 p.m. for reports that a taxi driver had crashed into a fence.
Officers located the driver who was injured and unresponsive. Police confirmed the man was wounded from a shooting, but didn't provide details about how that happened.
He was rushed to a trauma centre in life-threatening condition but later died.
There is no information about suspects at this time.

Beck Taxi confirmed the victim was one of their employees.
"We are absolutely shocked and heartbroken about the news that a Beck driver has been shot ... We are assisting police in any way we can," the company said in a tweet.
