A woman whose son died after suffering a severe asthma attack during recess is pushing for changes that would allow all Ontario school children to carry their puffers with them.
Ryan Gibbons was just 12 years old when he died in October 2012.
His puffer was in the school’s office, which his mother says was because school rules wouldn’t let him carry it himself.
Sandra Gibbons believes her son would be alive today if he had been allowed to carry his puffer.
A private member’s bill, which has just passed second reading at Queen’s Park, could make that a reality for other students if it passes into law.
