Rob Ford visits hospital for toe injury, without his sobriety coach
Ford sought treatment for nagging injury, Bob Marier reportedly went back to Montreal
Rob Ford has made a couple decisions regarding his health, including a hospital visit and the loosening ties with his sobriety coach.
Ford went to a Toronto hospital for a toe injury that has "been bothering him," according to his press secretary. The mayor is expected to have toe surgery after the October 27 election.
His brother and campaign manager Doug Ford also informed CBC News that Bob Marier, Ford's sobriety coach who has been by his side at every appearance since the mayor came back from a rehab stint, will no longer be around on a day-to-day basis.
Marier is a recovering alcoholic and drug addict who helps others with addiction problems stave off temptation. He has been travelling with Ford as a paid employee to assist him in staying sober.
Marier, who is from Montreal, will be away from the mayor starting this weekend.
Ford was in a rehabilitation facility for two months to get treatment for alcohol and substance abuse.
