As Mississauga native Robby Fabbri chases gold for Canada's World Junior team, his grandparents are watching every play.

Originally from Italy, Robby Fabbri's grandparents admit they "knew nothing" about hockey until their grandson become a junior hockey star and a key component of Canada's World Junior team.

CBC reporter Greg Ross spoke to Maria and Antonio Pagnetti, who've been watching their Mississauga-born grandson at the World Junior tournament currently taking place in Montreal and Toronto.

"We are so, so proud of him," Maria said. "Especially when he scores," added Antonio, Fabbri's grandfather.

The couple have become hockey fans watching the 18-year-old centre, who plays for the Guelph Storm of the Ontario Hockey League and who was drafted by the NHL's St. Louis Blues in June.

"For 50 years, I never went to see a game," said Antonio.
