Porter Airlines expansion proposal debate coming to council

Council is set to consider a controversial airport expansion plan on Tuesday.

A proposal to extend the runways at Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport has been brought forward by Porter Airlines.

The airline wants to be able to fly jets from the island airport, but it would need longer runways and the relevant permissions to do so.

Last week, the city’s executive committee voted to continue considering Porter’s expansion plan.
