Pedestrian struck by vehicle, seriously injured near Woodbine Beach

A female pedestrian was stuck by a vehicle and severely injured in the Beach area on Monday afternoon.

Woman was found unresponsive but breathing, police say

A female pedestrian was stuck by a vehicle and severely injured in the Beach area on Monday afternoon.

Toronto police said the woman was hit at the intersection of Woodbine Avenue and Lake Shore Boulevard East.

Const. David Hopkinson said responding officers found the woman unresponsive but breathing, lying face down on the ground.

Paramedics rushed the woman to a trauma centre. It's unclear what led to the collision at this time. 

Two vehicles remained in a cordoned off area following the crash.

Woodbine was briefly closed from Queen Street East to Northern Dancer Boulevard but was later reopened Monday night.
