2 shootings in Ajax may be linked to tow truck violence, police say

Police east of Toronto are investigating two Thursday night shootings they suggest may be linked to ongoing tow truck related violence.

Durham police said the front doors of two different homes were shot at within minutes of each other last night in Ajax.

They said residents were home at the time, but no injuries have been reported.

Police in the GTA have noted a rise in violence this year among a small segment of the industry with alleged links to organized crime and motivated by turf wars and rivalries.
