Nil Köksal describes her experience reporting in Turkey on Syrian refugee children.

Imagine 4-year-olds barefoot and begging in Times Square or at Yonge-Dundas Square in Toronto -- ludicrous, right?

Well, it's a reality in Istanbul because of the Syrian refugee crisis.

It is already one of the busiest cities in the world, bursting with people.

I've been going back to Turkey regularly since I was a child, and I've never seen anything like the destitute refugee children there.

The story was one we were passionate about telling and one that took months to gather.

Those kids are going to take a lot longer to forget -- if we can ever forget them, really.

Thanks for taking the time to watch and listen to their stories.
