Die-hard Leafs fans watch pick outside Air Canada Centre
The Toronto Maple Leafs picked Thornhill, Ont. native Mitch Marner fourth overall at Friday night's NHL draft.
Marner, an 18-year-old Right Winger who played for the OHL's London Knights, has already drawn comparisons to NHL stars like Patrick Kane.
Scouts say Marner possesses exceptional hands, a good shot, quickness and acceleration — skills that allow him to finished second in OHL scoring last season.
Die-hard Leafs fans watched the draft on the Air Canada Centre's big screen outside the downtown stadium.
Connor McDavid went first overall, as expected.
The organization welcomed Marner with a special tweet.
