Meet CBC Toronto's Kelda Yuen

Kelda Yuen is an award-winning journalist and the host of CBC Toronto News at 11, where she shares the day's top stories and issues important to people across the GTA.   

Five interesting facts you may not know about Kelda:

  1. She's jumped out of a plane (skydived) with members of the Canadian military for a story.

  2. Her parents are from Hong Kong, and she grew up speaking Cantonese at home. She moved to Toronto from Hong Kong when she was two.

  3. She's camped and hiked along the steepest section of the Great Wall of China.

  4. She's visited the most reclusive place on earth, North Korea, and spent five days in the secret state.

  5. She's bungee jumped off a gorge with only velcro straps wound around her ankles.
