Toronto police confirmed a fetus has been found near the scene of a murder-suicide, but say it doesn't belong to the woman who was killed by her husband, a Canadian soldier.

Someone called 911 around 9:15 a.m. on Wednesday after finding the fetus near the recycling area of 111 Raglan Ave., Toronto police Const. Victor Kwong said.

Investigators with the coroner's office cordoned off an area near two recycling bins at the rear of the highrise apartment building.

A police investigation into the discovery is ongoing, with officers canvassing the area.

An autopsy is set to be conducted on the fetus tomorrow.

Police said Precious Charbonneau, 33, was nine weeks pregnant when she was stabbed to death on Sunday night and thrown from the 21st floor of the building.

Police believe Robert Giblin, a 43-year-old sergeant who served with the Joint Task Force Central (JTFC) based out of Denison Armoury in Toronto, committed the crime. He then leapt to his death.
