Police say they are looking into graffiti found scrawled on the walls of David Hornell Junior School in Etobicoke, near the intersection of Lakeshore Boulevard West and Park Lawn Road.

The graffiti, written in blue and red paint, read "It's the Jews" several times over.

The school's principal, Virginia Field, said a caretaker noticed the graffiti early Tuesday morning.

A team from the Toronto District School Board washed it off on Wednesday morning.

"The students did see it," said Field. "Teachers have been addressing their classes [to talk to them about it]."

Field said the school has never had any graffiti like this before.

Const. Caroline de Kloet of the Toronto police said that detectives in 22 division are investigating.

In this photo, taken before the TDSB had washed the graffiti away, somebody had begun to wipe out the word 'jews.' (Submitted)
