During her final arguments Thursday, Ghomeshi's lawyer Marie Henein said the evidence presented "falls far short" of proving that the former CBC Radio host is guilty of sexual assault.
Earlier in the day, Crown prosecutor Michael Callaghan argued that inconsistencies in the stories of the witnesses do not prove the complainants consented to the alleged assaults.
Ghomeshi, 48, of Toronto, has pleaded not guilty to four counts of sexual assault and one count of overcoming resistance by choking connected to incidents alleged to have occurred in 2002 and 2003.
