Man dead after elevator accident at King-Yonge

A 35-year-old man is dead following an elevator accident at a condo-hotel at King and Yonge streets in downtown Toronto, police say.

A 35-year-old man is dead following an elevator accident at a condo-hotel tower in downtown Toronto, police say.

Paramedics raced to the scene at 1 King St. W., at Yonge Street, just after 7 p.m. ET, but the man was pronounced dead, said Deputy Cmdr. Dave Vilgax of Toronto Paramedic Services.

It's not clear yet how the accident happened.

Ontario's Ministry of Labour will be investigating the death, police say.
