Ellen DeGeneres invites dancing Toronto Starbucks barista with autism on show

A viral video of a Toronto teen dubbed the "The Dancing Barista" landed him and his boss on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. 

Sam Forbes, a 17-year-old high school student with autism, warmed the hearts of millions after a video of him dancing as he serves up a beverage was posted online. 

The teen, who is a huge fan of DeGeneres, told the host that dancing helps him concentrate. "Me too," DeGeneres replied during their conversation. The host is known for opening her syndicated U.S. talk show by dancing through her live studio audience. 

Sam also explained to the television audience what it meant to be hired by Starbucks.  

"In that moment my life changed, my whole world changed," he said during his interview.

Chris Ali, Sam's boss, hired him after they met at Camp Thrive, an event affiliated with Integrated Services for Autism and Neurodevelopmental Disorders (ISAND). 

"He's an amazing boss and he's also a really, really good friend and I wouldn't give him up for anything," said Sam. 

DeGeneres had some surprises for Sam, including a custom tip jar and the trip of a lifetime. 

Since he was four, Sam said, he has dreamed of travelling to Japan. He burst into tears when DeGeneres announced that she was giving him a trip to Japan. 

But that wasn't the only surprise DeGeneres had up her sleeve. 

Ali got a surprise video message from Toronto Raptors DeMar DeRozan, Kyle Lowry, and the team's general manager Masai Ujiri, who invited Ali to a Raptors practice and game.
