David Furnish is returning to his hometown to serve as grand marshal of Toronto's Pride parade.

Furnish is a producer and philanthropist who is married to Elton John and shares two young sons with the music legend.

He also chairs the Elton John AIDS Foundation.

Furnish says he's excited and honoured to be a part of what he says is an important event to celebrate the achievements of the LGBT community.

But he says there is still much work that has to be done in raising awareness about HIV/AIDS.

And to help others in countries where being gay is still a crime.

Furnish also has high praise for Bruce Jenner.

The former Olympian recently announced in an ABC News interview that he identifies as a woman.

Furnish says he thinks Jenner is "incredibly brave" and thinks people should be supporting Jenner as he makes his gender transition.

Furnish will serve as grand marshal of Toronto's Pride parade on June 28th.
