CUPE education workers to begin job action September 10
Support workers at Ontario school boards will enter the first stage of escalating job action on September 10.
Staff at Ontario's public, Catholic, English and French school boards will start work-to-rule action during the first week of classes.
As many as 55,000 employees will be affected. The workers represented include educational assistants, office administrators, custodians, library technicians, early childhood educators, IT specialists and others
"Our members' work is important to student success in our schools," said Terri Preston, chair of CUPE's Ontario School Boards Coordinating Committee (OSBCC).
The OSBCC filed their intentions to the province on Thursday evening.
"We need all parties to understand how serious our members are about the services we provide and being treated with respect at work," Preston said.
