Alomar introduced Harper to his brother Sandy Alomar Jr., who is the first base coach for the Cleveland Indians, the team playing the Jays tonight.

Harper was on the field during some of the team's batting practice. He also met some of the team, and talked with the team's general manager John Gibbons, and Buck Martinez, the Jays' play-by-play announcer.

His attendance, during the federal election campaign, comes at a time when the Jays are leading in the American League East standings. The team hasn't had a winning streak this strong since they won the World Series in 1992 and 1993.

Harper was accompanied by his wife, Laureen, and son, Ben. They are scheduled to stay and watch the game.
