A three-year-old child was attended by paramedics on Saturday night, after scratching his hand on a syringe in a Toronto school playground, say Toronto police.
Toronto police were called to Charles G. Fraser Junior Public School in the Trinity-Bellwoods area at 6:50 p.m., after the child encountered "either a bag or a bunch" of syringes, according to Constable David Hopkinson.
"It offers a considerable public safety and health risk when there are syringes in parks," Hopkinson said.
Police say they do not know what was contained in the syringes.
