York Regional Police have ruled out a car they thought might have been used by three men who killed a woman in a violent home invasion in Markham, Ont., on Monday night.

York Regional Police have ruled out a car they thought might have been used by three men who killed a woman in a violent home invasion in Markham, Ont., on Monday night.

Police had released a grainy surveillance video Tuesday showing a vehicle parked outside the home on Helen Avenue, near Highway 407 and Kennedy Road, north of Toronto.

They issued a release Wednesday saying they believed the silver Acura might have been used in the getaway and provided a detailed description.

But on Wednesday evening, police said the Acura's owner, who had seen news reports about the case, contacted them and has been ruled out as a suspect.
