Woman killed in stabbing at Brampton home, police say
Police say they have a suspect in custody, a man who was known to the woman

A woman is dead after she was stabbed in a Brampton, Ont., home Tuesday morning, police say.
Peel Regional Police received reports of a disturbance at a residence in a building near Kennedy Road S. and Glidden Road around 8:30 a.m., acting Sgt. Sarah Patten told reporters.
Officers found a woman stabbed and in life-threatening condition, Patten said. Paramedics rushed her to a trauma centre, where she later died.
A child, who called in the disturbance to police, was also in the home at the time of the stabbing, Patten said.
Police believe the woman was in her 40s but do not have further information about her identity, Patten said.
A suspect, a man in his 30s, was located not far from the residence and is in custody, Patten said. The man and woman were known to each other. Police do not believe there are any outstanding suspects.
Neighbour says woman was bruised, bleeding
While police were stationed on the 12th floor of the building Tuesday, neighbouring residents told CBC Toronto they were shocked to see something so violent happen where they live.
"I saw when the lady was going in the ambulance. She was bruised up here," said Khalil Rehman, gesturing to part of his face. "She was bleeding too ... It's sad."

Neighbour Apscon Parks said he was equally concerned for the child.
"I don't know what age that person is, but for them, it's very [traumatic]," Parks said.
Investigators are asking anyone with any information about the incident to contact them.
