A 47-year-old woman and two children are dead following a crash in Brampton, Peel police say.

Emergency crews were called to the scene in the Highway 50 and Countryside Drive area just after 9 p.m. for reports of a two-vehicle collision.

A third child and two adults were also taken to hospital in stable condition, Peel paramedics Supt. Cory Tkatch told CBC News.

The ages of the children killed have not yet been released.

Yashnyk says there is nothing to indicate that alcohol was a factor in the crash. The major collisions bureau's investigation remains ongoing and the unit will be looking into speed, road conditions and the actions of the drivers.

Anyone who may have witnessed the crash or with dashcam video is asked to contact police.
