The Jays' Drew Hutchison took the mound for the opening day game.

The 24-year-old starter went six innings and struck out three Yankees along the way.

Edwin Encarnacion hit a home run for the Jays, as did rookie second baseman Devon Travis — and for him, it was the first hit of his major-league career.
