Toronto police are on a bear hunt in the north of Scarborough.
Officers began tweeting out reports of a 300-pound bear sighted in the Tapscott Road and Finch Avenue East area at 10:30 p.m.
Police are warning the public to stay away from the area and not to approach the animal. Officers are currently searching the area.
The Toronto Zoo, which is located less than four kilometres from where the animal is alleged to have been seen, told police they are not missing any bears.
