Highlights of Anne-Marie Mediwake's time at CBC Toronto
Anne-Marie Mediwake, co-host of  CBC  Toronto News at 6 p.m., is leaving the public broadcaster.

Mediwake, who has been a news anchor with CBC News for more than six years, is leaving for another opportunity.

On Wednesday's show, Mediwake thanked the "army of people who work throughout the day to bring you this award-winning show.  
"They care more and work harder than any newsroom I know," she said, adding that "I'm very proud to have been part of this team" and that she considers her co-host Dwight Drummond "a brother."

Earlier this year, Mediwake and Drummond were nominated in the best news anchor category at the 2016 Canadian Screen Awards (CSA). For the last three years, the program has been nominated as Best Newscast at the CSAs, winning the award in 2015. 

Mediwake was also nominated for Best Local News Anchor at the CSAs in 2014

Mediwake worked for Global Television's Toronto flagship newscast and for CTV National News before joining CBC News in 2009.

Her last day on-air is Wednesday. Drummond will continue to anchor CBC's evening news program with other CBC journalists filling in.
