Anne-Marie Mediwake leaving CBC Toronto News
Award-winning broadcaster leaving for another opportunity
Mediwake, who has been a news anchor with CBC News for more than six years, is leaving for another opportunity.
Earlier this year, Mediwake and Drummond were nominated in the best news anchor category at the 2016 Canadian Screen Awards (CSA). For the last three years, the program has been nominated as Best Newscast at the CSAs, winning the award in 2015.

Mediwake was also nominated for Best Local News Anchor at the CSAs in 2014.
Mediwake worked for Global Television's Toronto flagship newscast and for CTV National News before joining CBC News in 2009.

Her last day on-air is Wednesday. Drummond will continue to anchor CBC's evening news program with other CBC journalists filling in.
