Wintery weather blasts Thunder Bay

Another blast of winter-like weather has hit northwestern Ontario

Another blast of winter-like weather has hit northwestern Ontario, wreaking havoc in Thunder Bay.

Thunder Bay police said 8 collisions have been reported in the last 24 hours and that number is expected to double once reports of parking lot fender-benders are added.

Rural schools have been closed and buses have been cancelled.

School closures include Crestview, McKenzie, Five Mile, Nor' Wester View, Gorham & Ware, Valley Central, Kakabeka Falls, Whitefish Valley, and Thunder Bay Christian School.

All rural school buses are cancelled, including school bus routes serving urban schools.   

School buses are also cancelled in Nipigon, Red Rock and Dorion.
