Following Terry Fox's historic Marathon of Hope, another Canadian aimed to make it, not only across the country, but around the world.

But Rick Hansen was doing it in a wheelchair.

As part of his 1985-1987 Man In Motion world tour, Hansen stopped in Thunder Bay.

Listen to some of CBC Thunder Bay's coverage of Hansen's visit to the city.

Hansen appeared at a number of venues across the city, including the Terry Fox Monument, the former Lakeview High School and the Castlegreen Community Centre.

His tour aimed to prove the potential of people with disabilities, and to bring awareness to making communities more accessible and inclusive.
