A 36-year-old man and a 23-year-old woman have been arrested following an assault of two teenagers, Thunder Bay police say.

Police were called just after 11:30 p.m. Tuesday to the Wentworth Crescent area in County Park.  It was to investigate an assault on a 15-year-old girl. That led to the discovery of a second victim, another 16-year-old girl. Police said the victims were physically and sexually assaulted.

Police spokesperson Chris Adams noted the investigation is complicated, as there is more than one crime scene, which includes a bush area.

The two victims and the 36-year-old accused were taken to hospital Tuesday for treatment of non-life threatening injuries, added police. All were treated and released.

The accused remain in custody and both have  been charged with two counts of aggravated assault.
