22-year-old Thunder Bay man charged with stunt driving

A 22-year-old Thunder Bay man has been charged with stunt driving after being caught travelling at more than double the posted speed limit on Onion Lake Road.

Police said an officer spotted the speeding vehicle at about 4 p.m. Wednesday. It was travelling at 107 km/h on a stretch of roadway with a posted 50 km/h speed limit.

The driver was charged with stunt driving, and issued a speeding ticket.

Police said the vehicle — which the driver was not the owner of — was also impounded for seven days.
