The president and CEO of the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre is moving to southern Ontario to take on the role of president and CEO of the Rouge Valley Health System in the Greater Toronto Area.

Andrée Robichaud has served as the CEO and president of the TBRHSC since 2010 and was appointed acting CEO of the Thunder Bay Regional Research Institute in late 2014. She has submitted her resignation from both positions.

Andrée has made a great contribution to the advancement of our academic health sciences centre.- Susan Fraser, chair of the TBRHSC board.

In a news conference Wednesday, Robichaud said that she and her family were “welcomed to this community with open arms and I will always appreciate that.”

“I have had the great fortune to work with many accomplished and inspiring individuals in my time here and I know as I leave that our hospital and our research institute remain in good hands.”

The chair of the TBRHSC board said Robichaud will be missed.

“It was with a mixture of disappointment and appreciation that I accepted her resignation,” Susan Fraser said.

“Andrée has made a great contribution to the advancement of our academic health sciences centre ... but we all wish her well in her exciting new venture,” she said.

Robichaud will remain in her current positions until mid-June. In the coming days, the board will announce the process to secure a new CEO.
