Thunder Bay police say Richard Spence, 62, is the victim of the city's 11th homicide of 2014 and have charged his cousin with second degree murder in the case.

Police officers discovered Spence's body in the early morning hours of Sunday at a home on Secord Street on the city's north side. Members of the Criminal Investigations Branch and the Identification Unit were brought in to assist in the investigation, and the woman was arrested about 3:30 p.m

The cause of death is not being released at this time, but police say alcohol was a factor in the incident. A post mortem examination is being conducted today in Toronto.

The investigation is ongoing and Thunder Bay Police are asking anyone with information regarding this investigation to contact them.

Monica Spence, 45, appeared in court this morning and remains in custody facing a charge of second degree murder.
