OPP continued searching Monday for a 24-year old rural Thunder Bay man after a boating accident in Quetico Provincial Park.

The man, from Oliver-Paipoonge, was canoeing on Pickerel Lake in the eastern end of the park on Friday afternoon when he fell into the water. OPP say the man went into medical distress, then fell out of his canoe near Lookout Island.

A companion in the canoe, along with two others in a second canoe, searched for the man before calling his family for help, who then called police.

The OPP's Underwater Search and Recovery Unit is currently on the scene, assisting in the search.

The identity of the missing man has not been disclosed.  Police say he was not wearing a lifejacket.
