The Kenora Thistles 1907 Stanley Cup banner is safe and sound after the Ontario Provincial Police say it was recovered Thursday.

Police also found the missing Los Angeles Kings Stanley Cup flag earlier this week. The banner and flag were stolen in separate incidents last Friday night and early Saturday morning.

"We’re very pleased that we were able to recover the item and we can hang the banner in its rightful place at our rec centre," said Constable Bob Bernie, a spokesperson with the Kenora OPP.

Bernie said police are still investigating the incident said he couldn’t say publically where the banners were found.
