No trailer?  No problem.

Campers at some northwestern Ontario parks can now rent campsites that come complete with travel trailers.

The trailer-equipped sites are available at Sleeping Giant, Blue Lake and Rushing River Provincial Parks, said Ontario Parks' senior marketing specialist Anne Craig.

"[It] sleeps six people, you have a kitchenette, you have beds and mattresses provided. You just need to bring your bedding and your personal items," Craig told CBC News.

The new trailers are part of an effort to increase roofed accommodation in the parks, she said.

Currently, Quetico Provincial Park also offers yurts, and Sleeping Giant has cabins.

Until now, the cabins have only been open in the winter, but Craig said this year, they're open year-round.

It's too early to say how popular the new trailers will be, she added, but she anticipates they will be in demand.

Ontario Parks will review the bookings at the end of the season and consider expanding the program if the numbers justify it, she said.

"As time goes by, we hope to install more roofed accommodation across the province and that would include northwestern Ontario."

The trailer-equipped sites rent for $86 per night, plus taxes.
