New sex offender data shows even more live in northwestern Ont.
On Monday, CBC News reported parts of northwestern Ontario have the highest per capital rates of sexual offenders in Ontario.
New information shows that rate is climbing.
CBC News has obtained data from the 2014 sex offender registry that shows 159 registered sex offenders living in the P0V postal code, north of Sioux Lookout.
That's an increase of 37 offenders in the past 6 years.
Communities in the P0V postal code area include Angling Lake, Balmertown, Bearskin Lake, Big Trout Lake, Cat Lake, Cochenour, Collins, Deer Lake, Dinorwic, Eagle River, Ear Falls, Sandy Lake, Fort Severn, Hudson, Kasabonika, Kingfisher Lake, Lac Seul, McKenzie Island, Madsen, Minnitaki, North Spirit Lake, Osnaburgh House, Oxdrift, Perrault Falls, Pikangikum, Red Lake, Sachigo Lake, Savant Lake, Vermilion Bay, Wabigoon, Waldhof, Weagamow Lake, Wunnumin Lake, Pickle Lake, Muskrat Dam, Slate Falls, Poplar Hill, Keewaywin, and Migisi Sahgaigan.
