Golf Links Road construction expands

Work on Golf Links Road expanded today, closing it off to more traffic.

The contractor said the route is now closed south of the Harbour Expressway, down to Fanshaw Street.

The closure is expected to last 8 weeks.

Drivers can still access Confederation College and Fanshaw Street from Golf Links Road.

The closure is in addition to the initial closure between Central Avenue and the Harbour Expressway.

The construction project includes widening Golf Links to four lanes, installing new sidewalks and curbing, street lighting, active transportation trails and improving sewer and drainage as well as upgrading intersections.

Despite construction on both sides of the expressway, east-west traffic on the Harbour Expressway won't be interrupted.
