Firefighters free driver after Thunder Bay Expressway crash

Paramedics took a woman to hospital after a collision late this morning on the the Thunder Bay Expressway.

Paramedics took a woman to hospital after a collision late Wednesday morning on the Thunder Bay Expressway.

One person was taken to hospital after a vehicle knocked down a light standard on the Thunder Bay Expressway on Wednesday. (Jeff Walters/CBC)

The 20-year-old was in a car that went out of control and struck a light pole between Arthur Street and the Harbour Expressway. The impact caused the light standard to crash to the ground.

Firefighters used extrication gear to free the woman from the vehicle.

She was taken to hospital, as a precaution, to be checked over.
