Provincial police say they are suspending their ground search and underwater recovery operation in the quest to find a 16-year-old girl from Kenora, Ont., who was last seen on Feb. 27.

Two check points were set up by police in the downtown Kenora area on Saturday asking all drivers and pedestrians if they had any information to share about Delaine Copenace.

The Ontario Provincial Police underwater search and recovery unit was also called in over the weekend.

Police suspended those efforts on Monday.

"Over the last two weeks, the OPP thoroughly searched the downtown area and expanded into other areas of the city," a news release said. "Members of the OPP will continue to canvass residences and establishments within the community."

Anyone with any any information about Delaine's whereabouts is asked to call OPP immediately at the (807) 534-5534 or Crimestoppers at 1-800-222 8477.

Copenace is described by police as having a larger build, with brown eyes and long black hair. She was last seen wearing black boots, a black jacket, a "Bullet for my Valentine" T-shirt and black jeans with zippered pockets.
