CN talks with Thunder Bay and Fort William First Nation resume
Talks continue today between the two communities and the railway following the fire at the James Street swing bridge last fall.
Officials from both the City of Thunder Bay and Fort William First Nation will meet with CN Rail to discuss the James Street swing bridge.
The bridge, which is owned by CN Rail, has been closed to vehicle traffic since a fire in late October last year, but has remained open to trains and pedestrians.
Leaders of the two communities the bridge connects are pressing the railway to fix the damage.
CN Rail presented an engineering report earlier this month that recommends keeping the bridge closed to vehicles, but Thunder Bay Mayor Keith Hobbs said the report was “not very in-depth”.
