2 dead in Thunder Bay house fire
Police, Ontario fire marshall investigate Sunday evening blaze
A house fire on the north side of Thunder Bay has killed two people, emergency officials in the Ontario city say.
The blaze broke out Sunday around 10:25 p.m., in a home on Brant Street, near the intersection of Peel Street in County Park, says a news release from Thunder Bay police.
A 60-year-old man was taken to hospital, where he died from his injuries, a police official said.
A body was also found in the home, but Det. David Tinnes said police haven't yet been able to re-enter the building to confirm any more details. The Ontario fire marshall's office has been notified, and investigators are expected to arrive in Thunder Bay on Monday afternoon, Tinnes said.
The identities of both people who died are being withheld until next of kin are notified, police said.
