Teen girl charged in Northern Breweries fire

A 17-year-old girl has been charged with arson after a fire at the historic Northern Breweries property in Sault Ste Marie on Thursday.

Sault Ste Marie fire services have wrapped up their work at the overnight blaze. No one was hurt in the fire at the largely empty building on Bay Street.

One fire official described the damage as "extensive." The Ontario Fire Marshal was called in to help with the ongoing investigation.

Bay Street is now open to traffic.
