OHL approves sale of Sudbury Wolves to Dario Zulich
The sale of the Sudbury Wolves to local businessman Dario Zulich has been approved by the Ontario Hockey League board of governors.
"I am grateful to the Board of Governors of the Ontario Hockey League for its approval of the ownership transfer of the Sudbury Wolves, enabling me to purchase the Wolves from the Burgess and Edwards families," Zulich said in a news release Thursday.
"I am looking forward to the final step in the process, which will officially close the sale and purchase on a date to be determined prior to the start of the Wolves preseason."
He said he would not be making any other comments on the sale until it closes.
The Sudbury Wolves were owned by the Burgess and Edwards family for 30 years.
They are the longest serving owners in OHL history.
