Sudbury police find dope, steroids at local schools

Numerous students and some adults at Sudbury schools have been caught with illegal substances.

Numerous students and some adults at Sudbury schools have been caught with illegal substances.

On Tuesday, officers from the Greater Sudbury Police's Neighbourhood Policing Unit conducted a number of sweeps at secondary schools in Sudbury.

As a result of these sweeps:

  • Nine students were found to be in possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. 
  • Four students were found with drug paraphernalia.
  • Two adults were found in possession of a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. 
  • One student was found to be in possession of a knife.
  • One student was found to be in possession of steroids and syringes, as well as drug paraphernalia. 

All of the drugs and drug paraphernalia were seized by police for destruction.

The students are being dealt with by school officials, police said.
