Sudbury thief responsible for several August break and enters arrested

An elusive Sudbury thief met his match earlier this week and is now in custody.

The 31-year-old man broke into both businesses and homes

An elusive Sudbury thief met his match earlier this week and is now in custody.

On Aug. 29, Sudbury police arrested a 31-year-old man in New Sudbury who was driving a stolen vehicle he'd taken from a home he had broken into.

After further investigation, police revealed this man was involved in several other break and enters.

The commercial break and enters happened between Aug. 20 and 27 at:

  • Claire's School of Dance
  • Laurentian School of Driving
  • Pro Bait and Tackle
  • Topper's Pizza
  • Herc's Greek Diner
  • Vapor Trend
  • Ed's Auto Repair 
  • Alliance Coffee House.

The man remains in custody and will be re-appearing in bail court on Sept. 1.

He is facing:

  • eight counts of break, enter and theft
  • two counts of break and enter with intent to commit theft
  • two counts of posession of stolen property obtained by crime
  • theft of a motor vehicle.
