City Council has voted to include both parking and green space in its redevelopment of the lot next to Bell Park, which once served as space for hospital parking.
At a meeting Tuesday night, city council opted for a plan that includes parking for 100 cars amongst trees. It also has a bus drop-off lane, dedicated bicycle parking, a lookout, and an accessible pathway to the beach.
The area will not be maintained in the winter months, city staff noted.
The redevelopment is estimated to cost the city between $800,000-$900,000.
