Train derails outside Spanish, Ontario

A train derailment on the outskirts of Spanish, Ont., is under investigation.

The clean-up continues after a Huron Central freight train derailed near the town of Spanish, Ont., about 100 kilometres southwest of Sudbury.

A company spokesperson says 13 tanker cars left the tracks late last night as the 77-car train was heading west.

No injuries or spills were reported and there is no report of any hazardous material on the train.

Crews from Huron Central Railway are on site. Transport Canada and Ontario's Ministry of Environment are investigating.
