Sudbury poet Roger Nash releases new book, 'Zigzags', ahead of Culture Days

With his 18th book, "Zigzags," Greater Sudbury poet Roger Nash pivots and ponders on themes of love, the environment and chance. 

"I'm amazed by the role that accident, opportunity and the surprising play in life," said Nash, Greater Sudbury's first poet laureate and professor emeritus in philosophy at Laurentian University. 

"I think a lot of us in our daydreaming moments make plans that we're going to go straight ahead, up a ladder, or to the next town," he continued.

"But life gives us opportunities to sidetrack ourselves, or it puts obstacles in our way, and we go the way we can — and the way we do."

Nash will be officially launching Zigzags and signing books as a part of Culture Days on Sat., Oct. 1 at the main branch of the Greater Sudbury Public Library.
