Rich Griffin funeral in Sudbury today, 'everyone welcome'
'Please come and help me celebrate his life today,' says Griffin's widow
A funeral service will be held today for Richard "Rich" Griffin. The popular Sudbury radio host, 52, suffered a suspected brain aneurysm over the weekend.
His organs were donated on Monday.
Griffin's widow, Nancy Griffin, has been active online since her husband's sudden death, sharing updates about his organ donation procedure, final moments and service details.
She wrote on Facebook, "Everyone is welcome [at his funeral]. Please come and help me celebrate his life today."
The funeral takes place Thursday morning at Glad Tidings Church at 11 a.m.
According to his obituary, "the service will [also] be live-streamed at AllNationsChurch.ca and simulcast on KFM 95.5 FM. Please share your memories of Rich using social media. Tweet using hashtag #RichGriffin or share on Rich's Facebook page."
Griffin was "a man of deep faith," noted his obituary. "[We] take comfort knowing he is now safe with his Lord and Saviour."
He is survived by his wife Nancy, and his five-year-old daughter, Zoe.
