The Premier's office announced that Premier Doug Ford will be in Sudbury on Monday.

It comes as one of his most senior ministers, Sylvia Jones, is also in the city to celebrate the opening of a new rehabilitation hospital for alder adults.

Jones, the province's health minister, will be on hand Monday to help celebrate the grand opening of Phase 1 of  the St. Joseph's Continuing Care facility. It has been operating out of a hotel in downtown Sudbury for the last four years.

The premier's visit also comes during the week that Finance Minister Peter Bethlenfalvy will reveal the government's fall economic statement on Oct. 30. Bethenfalvy has called it the "latest step in our plan to rebuild Ontario."

Ford has already announced that his government is moving to extend a 5.7-cent cut to the provincial gas tax until next summer.

A media advisory says Ford will be holding a news conference in Sudbury at 2 p.m.
